Summer Retail and Tap Room Team

Saltbox Brewery produces craft beer, cider and ready to drink products.    We are a proud, dedicated, and hardworking team with a continuous thirst for achieving great things together.   

As the retail, tap room and events staff of Saltbox Brewery, you are the face and personality of our brand; striving for customer satisfaction at all places where Saltbox beers are sold or sampled. Your positive attitude is the most important factor in ensuring a fun and positive atmosphere for our patrons.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

Staff will work both on and offsite representing Saltbox Brewery, King Street Beer and Lightship Brewery within our own retail stores and tap rooms, tastings, and various events throughout Nova Scotia.  You will serve as a beer-ambassador of Saltbox Brewery, educating patrons on all things Saltbox, our history, our beers and our ethos. You will need to be available for flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to: Enthusiastically welcoming/greeting customers, filling and pouring product, providing craft beer and related merchandizing product information, selection, suggestion, and sales; customer billing and payment settlement; receiving, recording, and storage of returns/designated.   Shifts will also include warehousing duties, which includes sleeving and shrinking cans for packaging, as well as canning.    Our team rotates through all areas of the business regularly.

A new addition to our ‘fleet’ is a 15 passenger beer bike, which will be staffed by enthusiastic tour guides, taking guests on 2 hour tours through Lunenburg, Bridgewater and Mahone Bay.   This may be included as part of your role with us.

Ensures all customers are of minimum legal drinking age in the Province of Nova Scotia by requesting and verifying accepted personal customer identification.  

Assists customers in product delivery as necessary.  Maintains public health/ sanitation and proactive health and safety standards.   Assist with inventory/ restocking of sections/supplies and other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional composure at all times, regardless of issue, while performing multiple tasks with multiple guests/multiple items/products.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Outstanding attention to detail – both personal grooming/appearance and in properly identifying guest’s needs and demeanor in order to maximize each guest’s entertainment experience at the brewery
  • Demonstrated reading comprehension ability (eg. Assist guests in reading of company / local tourism literature in order to increase guest satisfaction during stay/ visit).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as cooperatively within a team setting.
  • Ability to work safely and in compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Must be able to work evening shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of craft beer an asset.
  • Clean drivers abstract an asset
  • Due to the nature of our business, applicants must be 19+ years old

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a variety of environments and settings
  • Ability to navigate kegs up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time

Full Time Tap Room and Retail Team

At Saltbox, we believe that our taprooms (Mahone Bay, Lunenburg and Bridgewater) are a key part of our success as it may be the first experience consumers have with our brand.

 

The Taproom team will be responsible for making the taproom experience nothing short of exceptional.
